The goal of the project is to consolidate primary medical services into a new 76290 -sq.-ft. replacement clinic on a new site at Spangdahlem. Site design influences include force protection, topography, infrastructure, traffic circulation, parking, natural vegetation, response to German day-lighting requirements, and the best fit with the topography and viewing vistas.
The ground floor consists of two clinical modules containing Family Practice. The ground floor ancillary module houses Pharmacy, Lab and Tri-Care. A covered drop-off is located at the main entrance, which enters a two-story lobby with an open staircase, elevators and adjacent exterior courtyard. Wayfinding is direct and simple, with good separation between patient staff and services traffic. The two modules above the first-floor contain Flight Medicine, Physical Exam, Optometry, Public Health, Command and Administration. The first-floor level of the ancillary module contains Physical Therapy, Radiology, and Mech / Elec equipment.
