This project is not only the culmination of Master Planning initiated by RLF in 1988, it was an opportunity to redefine the Orlando Regional Medical Center Campus. Initial phases included 300,000 SF of new construction and 285,000 SF of renovation, maintaining occupancy while replacing all treatment and ancillary facilities.
A 1994 update of the Master Plan resulted in the addition of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, together with a new landscaped north entrance and three-story atrium extending up and into a Garden Plaza. This welcoming space embodies the best combinations of natural light, openness, landscape, air quality, sound control, glare control, and sensitivity to color and textural enhancements found within the hospitality industry.
