RLF’s master plan for The Mayflower Community, in Winter Park, Florida, illustrates updated and expanded facilities designed to provide a desired culture change while maintaining the residential community appearance.
The expansion plan replaces the skilled nursing unit with a three-story Health Center, divided into “Neighborhoods of Care” consisting of private rooms, a great room, dining room and activity areas. The lower floors house memory care, physical / occupational therapy spaces, a day club, and administrative offices. The renovated skilled nursing facility becomes expanded assisted living residences with a village center providing destination spaces for the community. 36 new residences are created in two waterside villa buildings.
Additional work includes a new central energy plant, receiving dock, expanded storage, new laundry, enlarged kitchen and a separation of service and resident access and corridors.
