This design consists of a three-level clinic and pharmacare structure, with a central lobby and courtyard. The design was based on the USAF “Clinic of the Future” planning model which exemplifies the segregation of circulation between staff and public. Public access is from the front while the staff provide services and maintain facilities from the rear.
The functions are arranged into three wings, pin-wheeling around the courtyard, with all command and administrative spaces located on the third floor with no requirement for patient access. Four patient elevators are located on the entry lobby for adequate vertical transportation, supplemented by a monumental stair prominently located within the central space.
The project was initiated with a full Design Team Charette that approved site and floor plans, exterior envelope, engineering concepts and a cost estimate.
