The DODS School at Sigonella, Italy consists of a 124,500 sf phased replacement of an existing school facility for grades one through twelve. The plan is developed using axis' developed by the new master plan for the base. The first phase includes two new high school buildings located south of an east-west axis. The elementary school is primarily located to the north of this axis in a two-story building. The resulting complex fits into the sloped site and provides unique outdoor teaching and play areas, such as an amphitheater and a palm court. Included in the school are science laboratories, libraries, computer labs, multi-purpose space and a gymnasium.
