The growth of Seminole College's science program required that the existing building be renovated for classroom and administrative use and a new building be dedicated exclusively to laboratory and research facilities. Existing facilities remained in use throughout the construction phase.

The two-story facility located in Sanford, Florida, includes 7 biology laboratories, 3 chemistry laboratories, 2 computer laboratories and ancillary support spaces. Care was taken in the design to maintain compatibility with the existing campus.
