RLF designers were challenged with a 150-acre environmentally sensitive site at Palm Coast, Florida. The resulting master plan preserved and celebrated natural site features by creating nature walks, yet satisfied program needs for buildings, traffic, parking and recreation.
Phase 1 classroom, laboratory and administrative functions were housed in a "campus" arrangement of interconnected building elements which created meaningful courtyards and the ability to blend with future buildings in the Master Plan. Initial buildings included faculty and administrative offices, developmental reading / writing labs and foreign language labs, physical and biological science labs, learning center, emergency medical technology laboratory, law enforcement laboratory, design and drafting technology / CADD laboratory, computer center and classroom, testing and support spaces.
